Taking the hint from Cirque du Soleil, the Ringling Brother’s and Barnum and Bailey Circus has begun a makeover of its 135 year-old show. Cirque has shown the live family entertainment industry the importance of incorporating pop culture glamour and cutting edge technology, and with the Ringling Brother’s playing copy-cat to a show less than a fifth of its age, it should provide Cirque lovers with the kind of smug satisfaction that would result if an older brother begged to tag along with his younger sibling’s friends. The entire concept of what it means to spend a day at the circus is being revolutionized. The very image of “clown” has thrust his pinkies out and may one day soon cease to haunt the nightmares of children everywhere.
Just kidding. A clown is very respectable occupation, especially with the amount of talent you currently need to obtain the job. Get Cirque du Soleil tickets and see for yourself.
