Delirium, Cirque du Soleil’s own riff on Cirque du Soleil, is an explosion of music and images from the world of classical Circus troupes and a remixing of the Soleil’s brilliant world of sound, given a completely new vivacity.
The collaborative project of Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon, multimedia and experimental performing arts experts, Soleil has a flare that only two long-time devotees of the form: they’ve produced multiple projects together since their initial 1995 event for Cirque du Soleil’s Montreal International Jazz festival, and their longstanding partnership has given them, in their bio’s own words, “a creative introspective into who they are as artists and how they have evolved personally and professionally.” Read more on Lemieux and Pilon here.
The Cirque Delirium page is an amazing source of music, scheduling, and photos from the show, so to get a closer peek at what’s going on in the ring, check out their official site here.
Tickets to Cirque du Soleil’s Delirium shows can be found on StubHub’s fan-based Cirque du Soleil tickets forum, where you can pick out its multiple other shows as well. Happy New Years, everybody. May all your trapeze landings be soft, and your eyes not cross in the technicolor lights.
