CORTEO Comes to Ottawa; Also, Barely Cirque News

In real Cirque news… CORTEO, the Cirque Du Soleil mega-hit, is coming to Ottawa for the first time in a couple of years. Read the scoop at News Blaze. Apparently the engagement will take place in the Canadian capital at the Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) at the St-Laurent Centre. Candians are, of course, no strangers to Cirque Du Soleil, so you can imagine that they shows will be packed to the brim with excited guests. The linked article also lists the time dates from performances.

And now for some slightly Cirque-oriented news… If you go to this article at the Minneapolis Star Tribune you can read up on a nice little benefit exhibit and art sale that some local Twin Cities artists are putting together for various children’s funds. The Cirque part? Apparently there is a acrobatic troupe called Xelias Aerial Artists that will perform there, and the writer of this article seems to think that the group is a lot like Cirque Du Soleil.
