Dubai Makes Pass at Cirque Du Soleil

Cirque Du Soleil’s popularity has caught the attention of more than audiences worldwide.  News sites were abuzz over the weekend because of reports that the Kingdom of Dubai offered £1 billion for the production.  Cirque Du Soleil is currently 98% owned by co-founder Guy Laliberte.   He bought out partner Daniel Gauthier in 2001 for £255 million.  He has not bit on any offers to sell in the past, but the Dubai offer has some guessing he could take the bait.  Their reputation for not trying to control production could mean Laliberte could continue to run and expand the show on his terms while someone else owns stakes in it.  Coincidentally, Cirque Du Soleil is on the brink of opening a show in Dubai.

Cirque Du Soleil makes for a good investment with its incredible popular shows both in the U.S. and abroad.  The high-flying acrobatic show void of animals makes it unique among performances and a favorite of audiences everywhere.  Laliberte himself was part of the act when it started as a fire breather. Come see the show that is creating such a stir.
