LOVE Documentary Opens

The documentary about Cirque Du Soleil’s LOVE show in Las Vegas opened on Monday at the Silverdocs film festival. All Together Now, as the film is named, chronicles what production of the LOVE show is like and how Beatles producer George Martin contributed through his remixing and editing of the songs for the show. The documentary includes interviews with former Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Star along with George Harrison’s widow, Olivia Harrison, and John Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono.

LOVE is one of Cirque Du Soleil’s most popular shows and takes a cast and crew of 500 people to create. The original budget for the production was $180 million dollars, but it took more than money and a crew to get the show off the ground. Because of the vision to use Beatles music, a parade of people and companies had to approve the project. The documentary follows the show through the creative process and records every up and down the crew faces.

The Silverdocs film festival was the sixth of its kind and the show was held at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, Maryland. The festival is known for its diversity of film as well as celebrating freedom of expression. The All Together Now DVD will be released worldwide on June 24.
