Cirque Du Soleil’s Kooza opens tonight in Chicago, and residents can get a special performance if they are downtown today. The show has let loose white-clad dancers, musicians and performing artists onto the streets of Chicago to promote Kooza. Other than their monochromatic outfits, the crew will be easily recognizable by the multicolored kites accompanying them. The kites are a common thread throughout the Kooza production.
They performers will be all over the city of Chicago during both the morning and evening rush hours. After the last rush hour, they will travel to the United Center to greet patrons entering the tent to see Kooza.
Kooza tells the story of a lonely wanderer, The Innocent, trying to find his way in the world. Along the way he meets a variety of characters from The Pickpocket to The King to The Obnoxious Tourist. Each encounter teaches him more about the world and how he fits in it. The show brings to stage the art of clowning, one of the original parts of Cirque Du Soleil’s production. Like other Cirque Du Soleil shows it also has incredible performers who perform death-defying stunts and wow audiences. Get your Cirque Du Soleil tickets from StubHub.com.
