Young Aerialist Dreams of Cirque

Young performers everywhere are setting their sights on Cirque Du Soleil and 17-year-old Kia Eastman is no exception.  Eastman may have a leg up, however, because she has been performing in the circus for the last five years.  Like many aerialists, she began in gymnastics and realized she like the performance aspect way more than the competition.  Her parents sent her to the children’s circus, Circus Smirkus, for a few years of camp before her parents let her try out for a part in the circus.  At 12, she started her career on the trapeze and loves what she does. During her time in the circus, she still managed to graduate from high school and now plans to move on to college.

While she used to want to be an interior designer, her love for circus performing has led Eastman to another ambition: to perform for Cirque Du Soleil. She told the Boston Globe, “Cirque Du Soleil has always been an amazing show to me. It’s so beautiful.”

Cirque Du Soleil is giving young performers like Eastman a way to continue their passion past childhood or the Olympics by providing a way to turn their talent into a career.  See the performers who have already made it a career by getting Cirque Du Soleil tickets from StubHub.com.
