Believe Gets Ready to Open

All of Las Vegas is readying for the opening of Cirque Du Soleil’s newest show there, Believe.  The show is created in a partnership with illusionist Criss Angel from the show Criss Angel Mind Freak. It opens in a little more than a month and has been creating quite a buzz around Vegas and the country.   Angel plays a Victorian Noble in the show, which is thematically dark to match Angel’s style. He is joined by a cast of characters that include two women who embody different types of femininity, Kayala and Crimson, as well as strange Ushers and others.

The show, although dark, has a dream-like quality that ropes audiences in to indulge in the sensuality.  Believe still features the incredible costuming and incredible acrobatics that have made Cirque Du Soleil so famous in the beginning.  The title comes from the secret code (“believe”) that Harry Houdini told his wife on his death bed as the only thing that he would say if someone tried to contact him from the other side.  The reason for the code was to expose any mediums that claimed to contact him.  Angel cites Houdini as one of his greatest influences, so the name is a tribute to his hero.  Find your Cirque Du Soleil tickets at StubHub.com.
