New Show Starts in Chicago

Cirque du Soleil’s new show, which we reported on yesterday as being opened by 2010 in New York City (for a hopeful permanent residence), the show is first making its premiere in Chicago. THe new MSG co - produced Entertainment event will make it’s way to Chicago November 19 for a six week run at the Chicago Theatre before going to New York. Written by Legally Blonde composer / lyricist Laurence O’Keefe and directed by David Shiner (who’s current play Kooza is making waves at Randall’s Island), the company is a gearing up for a full year of fun. If you want to be part of all the action make sure that you pick up a pair of Cirque du Soleil tickets today as these won’t be around for long. Though the show’s name has yet to be announced, the description via Cirque du Soleil’s website says: “Cirque du Soleil is putting a contemporary twist on Vaudeville by infusing this classic form of theatre with a modern flair.
