Cirque du Soleil’s Alegria to Hit Boston

The traveling troupe just announced that its Alegria Arena Tour is stopping in Boston this summer, performing 8 shows at the Agganis Arena from August 26 to the 30th! Cirque du Soleil’s Alegria has performed for over ten million fans worldwide with its debut in Montreal in April 1994. In May 2009 the show embarked on an international tour through the United States and Canada. Alegria is the Spanish term for “happiness, joy and jubilation,” and takes patrons on a journey through the struggles of power and the invigorating journey of youth. The cast includes individuals from 17 different countries with acts that include the Synchros Trapeze, the high speed Aerial High Bars (from more than 40 feet in the air), Russian Bars, Power Track and many more.
