LA Council Excited for Profits From Cirque

People just can’t stop talking about the possibility of Cirque du Soleil moving into the Kodak Theater with a positive vote for $30 million in federal funds to develop the theater for the possibility of performances. Council President Eric Garcetti, an avid supporter of the plan, recently talked to 98.1 KUOR Southern California Public Radio about the council vote and the project possibilities. “When you have 1.2 million people who will see the show, 3,000 people per show, for 48 weeks, think of what that does for stagehands that are out of work right now, for our hotels, for our shops, for our restaurants, for our LAX, for people that will be everywhere. You know, Hollywood is one of those regional centers that has a citywide effect.” A strong supporter, Garcetti is also the councilman for the area under which the project will uphold, Hollywood and Highland; he was quick to point out that the money won’t be coming from city coffers but from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as going into a joint partnership including CIM, the owner of the complex.

If you are ready to see the show come to the Southern California areana, make sure you are the first to get those Cirque du Soleil tickets today!
