Atlantic Station has opened up the big tent for ‘Cavalia’ from Cirque du Soleilco-founder Normand Latourelle, who was in the area just a few weeks ago introducing new performance techniques via media interface, via the new show that fuses ‘equestrian arts, magic and emotion.’ The large white tent will run in Atlanta from October 27th through November 15th.
Atlanta councilman Kwanza Hall said this: “Whereas, ’Cavalia’ reflects the inspired vision of founder and artistic director Normand Latourelle, whose artistry has been experienced by millions the world over through his work as the Co-Founder of Cirque de Soleil ; and, Whereas, Each performance brings 60 magnificently trained four-legged artists under the Big Top for a two-hour collaboration with 40 two-legged acrobats and musicians; and, Whereas, Monsieur Latourelle describes this one-of-a-kind performance as “a grand poem for the eyes and the ears. “Now, Therefore, We, the members of the Atlanta City Council, and on behalf of the citizens of Atlanta, welcome ‘Cavalia’ to the City of Atlanta and wish you BIENVENU as you pitch your tent tonight and gallop into our City.”
