While some mathematicians claim a full belief in being right brained, for Lyn Heward, President of Creative Content for the international circus troupe Cirque du Soleil, she believes everyone has a bit of that left brained creativey in them as well. “It is my firm belief that everyone has a wellspring of creativy within them. It’s a matter of tapping into it on a regular basis and in real life. Every situation, every encounter, offers us a creative opportunity,” she says. Talking yesterday about the effects of buisness creativity at the Ontario Economic Summit at the White Oaks Conference Resort and Spa in Niagara-on - the - Lake, clearly Heward had a strong reference point. Working for one of the highest grossest companies in this economic downturn, she continued: “Our world is constantly changing in large and small ways. So our sense and instincts must remain finely honed. You must trust your senses, your intuition, and yourself.”
The importance for many of the companies power has been to built a new style and successful business. For that, Cirque holds closed performances where contestants are tested and pushed to their creative limits. “We have them try to do things, which they’ve never done before,” she continued.
